mcg vs mg: what's the difference?
1,000 micrograms (mcg) equals 1 milligram (mg). Easy to misread on a label.
Micrograms (mcg) and milligrams (mg) are both units of weight, and they appear all over peptide and supplement labels. The key fact is that 1,000 mcg equal 1 mg. The milligram is the larger unit; a microgram is one thousandth of it.
The mix-up matters because '500 mcg' and '0.5 mg' describe the same amount, while '500 mcg' and '500 mg' are a thousandfold apart. At a glance those are easy to confuse.
